Recognise Bank welcomes four new Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board

Recognise Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Independent Non-Executive Directors, effective 26th November 2024. Suzanne Clark, Greg Jones, Garry Stran and Alison Tattersall will join the Board, alongside Chairman Steve Pateman and CEO Simon Bateman (both subject to regulatory approval), and other existing Board members.

The new Directors bring a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, which will be instrumental in guiding Recognise Bank towards profitability and delivering value to its customers and stakeholders.

Suzanne Clark has a distinguished career in internal audit and risk management, with senior roles at the Bank of England, Yorkshire Building Society and Peel Hunt. She is also a Non-Executive Director at HBL Bank UK and The Exeter.

Garry Stran brings experience in cultural change, credit risk management and operational transformation, having held senior roles at Nationwide Building Society, Computershare Loan Services Ltd and PCF Bank. He is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of WH Ireland PLC.

Greg Jones has over 30 years of experience in corporate, commercial, credit and risk, including senior roles at NatWest and RBS and Cynergy Bank. He is currently also the Non-Executive Chair of Deploy Capital and a Trustee of the Chartered Banker Institute.

Alison Tattersall has led commercial marketing teams across the Barclays Group and will bring her experience as a Consumer Duty Champion to the Board. Alison is currently a Non-Executive Director at the Stafford Building Society and University Hospital Southampton.

These appointments follow the departure of Phil Jenks, who has stepped down as Chairman and Non-Executive Director, and Moorad Choudhry, who has stepped down as Non-Executive Director, after providing invaluable support and guidance during their tenure.

This news follows Simon Bateman being appointed as CEO and Steve Pateman being appointed as Chairman, both subject to regulatory approval, at the beginning of November, marking a new chapter for the Bank.

Steve Pateman, Chairman at Recognise Bank, commented “I am delighted to welcome Alison, Garry, Greg and Suzanne to the Recognise Bank Board. Their collective experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue our journey towards profitability and growth. We look forward to their contributions as we strive to deliver excellent products and services to our customers.”
